Here's where you pay for the Beginners and Improvers course in Tai Chi running at Pershore Library, Mondays 2.30 p.m. 

The next course starts on Monday, 15th January, at 2.30 p.m.  It runs for 10 weeks, until 26th March. (There is no class during half term, 19th February). 



​If you are a continuing student, please consider moving to our subscription scheme, which allows you to attend more classes, and for some people saves you a considerable amount. 

Monday's 10.45 a.m., 12 noon and 1.30 p.m. classes in Pershore are not paid for this way - ask your Instructor for details of payment for those. 


About the Courses

Tai Chi has become hugely popular in the west, most particularly for its gentle approach to exercise, and its proven contribution to health and wellbeing. But getting to learn it isn't always easy, and it can be difficult to know where to start.

Courses for Beginners at Pershore are taught by local tutor Sue Smith, who works closely with our Director of Internal Arts, Neil R. Hall.  Neil is a distinguished martial artist and author. Director of the Institute for Advanced Integrated Martial Arts, and also London Chinatown's longest standing martial arts teacher. Neil has an international reputation for his martial arts teaching and his knowledge of how different martial arts have developed – including how arts such as Tai Chi have been shaped by ancient Chinese philosophies and healing practices.

In these short courses Sue helps you learn the movements and principles you need, and the courses are suitable for beginners.

It is a practical course – you join in, learn as you go along, and hopefully you feel better!

No special equipment is required, and no prior training is necessary.  Though Tai Chi comes from fighting arts, and Sue will explain the martial arts basis of many of the movements, this is a non-combat course, and the gentle exercise is fine for people of all ages and levels of fitness - over 60s, over 70s, and over 80s are welcome! 

Free on-line videos covering the movements you learn will be available to all students, so that you can continue to practice at home after you complete the course, even if you don't have access to suitable class near to you.
